We’re back in business after a, pretty long, summer break but we’ve got good news for y’all. We’re throwing another party: Tuesday the 19th of October is a date you should all mark in your agendas!

Like we promised on our first flyer we at Swingers Club would provide our parties with local heroes and national superstars. After 2 rather succesful editions that goal is almost (completely) achieved. We invited Belgian stars like Compuphonic, King DJ aka 4T4, Cook-E & Matik and young talents like Liss., Cauchy and Leroy (The latter even became co-host of our parties.)

For our 3th edition we go even further: our headliner is both a local hero and an (inter)national superstar. We’re talking about RAOUL LAMBERT of course! He knows the Rumba-dancefloor better than anyone else, he has an incredible eclectic record collection and he leaves everyone behind in terms of dj-skills. So that is briefly why he is our man for our 3th edition!

Also on the bill are MEN & MACHINES (Two dj’s, radioshow-hosts and party-organizers from Glasgow.) And you can already hear it, these guys breath music! Their parties are held in the heart of Glasgow at Stereo Club. They already played along dj’s as: Optimo, Serge Santiago, Pantha Du Prince and DFA acts like Shit Robot & Gavin Russom. So, we’re really proud to have them on their first visit to Belgium!

The line-up will be completed by our resident crew: KING & COUSIN, LEROY and TIBSON.

KING & COUSIN are the founders of Swingers Club and for this 3th edition they will open the night. They already played at events such as 10 Days Off & Laundry Day and in clubs like Libertine Supersport & Café Capital and their mixes were already broadcasted on Pure FM & Radio Scorpio. They will carefully select some smooth records to get y’all in the mood!

LEROY already played at every Swingers Club party and has become co-host of the party. At the time of our first party Leroy was barely 18 years old, but we saw a lot of potential in this guy! Today it seems that we’re not the only believers, even the people from Studay, a big open-air party in Antwerp acknowledge Leroy‘s good taste and great skills!

TIBSON is the newest Swingers-crew member. This 19 year old is maybe not the most experienced dj on the bill but he compensates that with a big dose of enthusiasm! Tibson is probably the most deep/tech-house oriënted dj of the crew, but his musical universe goes far beyond Detroit and Berlin, as he also likes to dig up some disco grooves from time to time. You’ll catch him behind the turntables in the early hours..

Swingers Club #02 will take place on tuesday the 9th of March at Rumba&Co, Leuven!

Visit us on Facebook and fill in the RSVP here!

This is the line-up:

COMPUPHONIC
Maxime, which is Compuphonic’s real name, already released on the biggest labels of the planet: Turbo Recordings (The label of electro-god Tiga), Systematic (Marc Romboy’s Deutsche grundlichkeits record label) and Freerange Records (one of the finest British deep-house imprints).
Nowadays Compuphonic runs his own label: Union Match Music, which saw the daylight in late 2009 and immediately generated big responses by some of the best jocks around; Laurent Garnier, Ken Ishii & Charles Webster.
Max already played at I Love Techno, Dour Festival, Laundry Day and is currently one of the residents of Brussels’ new hotspot Libertine Supersport. He’s style is often described as intelligent and melodious tech-house, but come down to Rumba&Co to discover it yourself!

KING DJ
King DJ is of course the famous Belgian dj 4T4. His numerous projects already took him literally everywhere in the country, from the main stage of Rock Werchter to the dj-booth of Ghent’s Culture Club., but his next stop is at your favorite party in Rumba&Co, Leuven!
King DJ has an excellent comprehension of the dance floor, so he will make you dance, if you want it or not! Good taste, eclecticism and high quality music are his keywords..

KING & COUSIN
King & Cousin are Adriaan and Peter, the organizers and resident dj’s of Swingers Club. Despite their young age they already played at the biggest DJ-festivals (10 Days Off, Laundry Day) and the coolest clubs (Libertine Supersport, Café Capital) of the country. They will take you to a trip of Jackin’ House, Deep Detroitish sounds, fresh electro tunes and nu-disco.

LEROY P. HARDY
Leroy P. Hardy will open the second edition of Swingers Club, we even asked him to join the resident team because we were so impressed by his fresh and unique style. Corneel easily blends fresh new cuts with old school hip-hop, funky classics and dubby 80’s pop. Keep an eye on him, cause this young gentleman is the man of the future!

When Italian superstar of the international nu-disco scene Bottin, known from releases on Italians Do It Better, Bearfunk, Eskimo, etc…, told King DJ he was going to be in Belgium, the two decided to go for a nice and fun party with some grade A music where both can completely go for “their thing”. Hospitable as we know Charlatan to be, it wasn’t a problem to get the cozy backroom Barbaar open for this, possibly the first of many to come. This is going to be a good one, folks!

If you are into really good party music and great vibes, and are open to something new as well as something old, as long as it’s sexy, this is the party for you. This is clubbing the way it was designed, a trip down past forgotten jams and future sounds of all era’s, a party where the music is so good that it’s completely in service of the general vibe. Come on down if you’re up for a night of two truly skillful dj’s taking you on a genuine trip that’ll make you feel alright, also if you’re more into just hangin’ out. Even better if you’ve got them dancin’ feet!

Larry Levan’s holy spirit will be visiting if you are. Just know that everyone’s gonna be there, so don’t be the exception!  You wouldn’t want to miss this…  ;- )

Oh, and also: Dancin’ Feet is here for a great party, and nothing else, so the entrance is free!

Dancin’ Feet will help you to get ready for some great King DJ releases coming up soon on Bearfunk, Chicken Lips’ Lipservice imprint, Nang,… and for the upcoming Swingers Club in Rumba on March 9th, where he’ll also be playing.

And finally, just to get you into the mood already, and maybe to trick you into sympathy, here’s a free mp3 for your ears only. It’s a King DJ re-edit of ‘Shake It Baby Love’ by Ferrara.

Ferrara – Shake It Baby (King DJ Re-Edit)

An artist where we’re really into for the moment is The Revenge.  The Glasgow based artist has put out a lot of (great) stuff this year. He really has his own sound: Slow, deep and dubby but still very soulful and funky.

He just did a mix for Resident Advisor which is certainly worth checking out! It gives you a good image of his own productions and the stuff he’s into. You can find the mix together with a little interview here.

If you’re still hungry for more mixtapes Studio Brussel is broadcasting some fine mixes of Belgian artists as well, every weekday from 10 pm untill midnight. We especially like the mixes from Fredo & Thang (aka Villa), KING DJ, Diepvries from Flexx, DJ Red D from We Play House Recordings & Raoul Lambert from Swirl People.

KING DJ

That’s the first thing you’ll read if you check KING DJ’s ‘about’ section on myspace. Well we can assure you that he isn’t an asshole at all, he just gave us an exclusive edit of Silver Convention, a mid 70’s German disco band!

He transforms Fly, Robin, Fly, originally released in 1974,  into a contemporary disco-cut (by accentuating the bassline, and taking out the breaks), without leaving the 70’s mood (as he keeps the vocals and the strings)!

Silver Convention – Fly Robin Fly (King DJ Edit)

For all you gangsta’s and hiphop lovers who recognise this song, ‘Fly, Robin, Fly’ was sampled in 1995 by Method Man & Red Man.

This summer you’ll have alot of opportunities to see KING DJ live, as he will perform on many festivals (Rock Werchter/ Marktrock) so check out his show-section on myspace! This saturday he will also perform on the Cityvisions‘ closing night in Mechelen.
