We’re back in business after a, pretty long, summer break but we’ve got good news for y’all. We’re throwing another party: Tuesday the 19th of October is a date you should all mark in your agendas!

Like we promised on our first flyer we at Swingers Club would provide our parties with local heroes and national superstars. After 2 rather succesful editions that goal is almost (completely) achieved. We invited Belgian stars like Compuphonic, King DJ aka 4T4, Cook-E & Matik and young talents like Liss., Cauchy and Leroy (The latter even became co-host of our parties.)

For our 3th edition we go even further: our headliner is both a local hero and an (inter)national superstar. We’re talking about RAOUL LAMBERT of course! He knows the Rumba-dancefloor better than anyone else, he has an incredible eclectic record collection and he leaves everyone behind in terms of dj-skills. So that is briefly why he is our man for our 3th edition!

Also on the bill are MEN & MACHINES (Two dj’s, radioshow-hosts and party-organizers from Glasgow.) And you can already hear it, these guys breath music! Their parties are held in the heart of Glasgow at Stereo Club. They already played along dj’s as: Optimo, Serge Santiago, Pantha Du Prince and DFA acts like Shit Robot & Gavin Russom. So, we’re really proud to have them on their first visit to Belgium!

The line-up will be completed by our resident crew: KING & COUSIN, LEROY and TIBSON.

KING & COUSIN are the founders of Swingers Club and for this 3th edition they will open the night. They already played at events such as 10 Days Off & Laundry Day and in clubs like Libertine Supersport & Café Capital and their mixes were already broadcasted on Pure FM & Radio Scorpio. They will carefully select some smooth records to get y’all in the mood!

LEROY already played at every Swingers Club party and has become co-host of the party. At the time of our first party Leroy was barely 18 years old, but we saw a lot of potential in this guy! Today it seems that we’re not the only believers, even the people from Studay, a big open-air party in Antwerp acknowledge Leroy‘s good taste and great skills!

TIBSON is the newest Swingers-crew member. This 19 year old is maybe not the most experienced dj on the bill but he compensates that with a big dose of enthusiasm! Tibson is probably the most deep/tech-house oriënted dj of the crew, but his musical universe goes far beyond Detroit and Berlin, as he also likes to dig up some disco grooves from time to time. You’ll catch him behind the turntables in the early hours..

Do you sometimes feel the desire to go back in time? Going back to the times that dancemusic was still pure. Going back to the times that House music was still a feeling. Well Café Capital is taking you back!

The nightclub in Antwerp is starting with a new concept which is called ‘Where were you?’, every week they’ll take you back to a legendary year in dancemusic’s history. The first night will take you back to 1987 That’s the year where we were born in, but besides that 1987 is ofcourse the year of Chicago House.

We’ve put two classic chi-house records online for your ears only. The first is one of our favorite house tracks of all time ‘Shake Your Body’, the second one is an extra long dub version ( more than 11 minutes so real earcandy for the music-nerds) of ‘Pleasure Control’ by On The House.

Jeanette ‘JT’ Thomas – Shake Your Body [1987]

On The House – Pleasure Control (Dub) [1986]

So, if these records don’t take you back to the Warehouse days of glory you certainly can use a good party. Check out Café Capital‘s website for more info or to submit your own musical suggestions of 1987.

We’ve got ourselfs some upcoming events too; a warming-up set at Libertine Supersport in Brussels on the 30th of January. We’re really excited about this because in the last few months they welcomed acts like Tensnake, Still Going, Jacques Renault, Shit Robot, Horse Meat Disco, Glass Candy, Mike Simonetti, and a lot more other great dj’s.

In February we’ll be playing at ‘One Year Diskett,’ a birthday party for Cook-E & Matik and Mot’s partyconcept in Ghent. They invited us together with two legendary Belgian dj’s, Cosy Mozzy and Bobby Ewing, and an international guest, Jesse Rose!

March will be special too because on Tuesday the 9th we’ll be hosting our second Swingers Club night in Leuven. We’ll announce the names soon, but all we can tell you right now is that we”ll be inviting two well respected Belgian dj’s and producers who both already released on a lot of international record labels! So keep an eye on our Swingers Club facebook page!

You can find more accurate and up to date information about our upcoming dj-sets on our myspace or of the gig-section on this blog.

An artist we really admire lately is Danilo Plessow, propably better know as: Motor City Drum Ensemble. He has caught a lot of attention last year due to his ‘Raw Cuts’ serie,  at the moment he’s one of the hottest producers around as he’s getting a lot of remix requests. You can expect at least 5 or 6 remixes by him in the forthcoming months for artists like Jazzanova, Steve Bug, Art Of Tones & Toby Tobias, while 2 more MCDE remixes were just released this week, a beautiful midtempo remix of Nufrequency‘s track ‘Fallen Hero’ on Rebirth with vocals by Ben Onono and a banging peaktime ‘Warehouse Dub’ remix on Get Physical of DJ T.‘s new single ‘Shine On’.

We’ve got some great MCDE mixtapes selected for you:

For the Belgian clubbers: Don’t forget that Danilo will be dj-ing at Spark in Café Capital on Saturday the 24th of October. Something to look forward to!

On 10 october 2009 a new club will be born: Libertine Supersport. It is the new club by Renaud Deru & Lorenzo Serra, the guys behind Dirty Dancing. They’re leaving Mirano to start a fresh new concept at K-Nal (the venue where they already held their Summer Club parties).

The spirit of the new Brussels club is a liberal one, hence the name, anything is possible and everyone is welcome. But the most important aspect of a nightclub (for us) is ofcourse the music! The resident team is divided into 2 categories Libertine & Supersport, the first one is more disco-orientated, the latter is more mainroom house & electro-orientated. The Libertine dj’s maison are: Andy Faisca, Mustang, Dirk (Smile), Guy-Ohm, L-fêtes, Rick Shiver and Rob & Zoopsie, the Supersport resident dj’s are: Compuphonic, Jean Montevideo, Cosy Mozzy, Cook-E & Matik, Kid Strike, Mickey, So’Lex and Wirspielen.

On October the 24th the new club will welcome the Italians Do It Better family: Glass Candy, Desire and Mike Simonetti, so that will be certainly something to look out for! And the week after DFA‘s Shit Robot will perform at Libertine. Other names yet confirmed are: Tensnake & Einmusik (14/11), Still Going & Jacques Renault (21/11), Vincenzo & Renaissance Man (28/11).

The first details about the new club look extremely interesting. A good resident team in combination with a bunch of quality international guests, that’s what we can expect from Libertine Supersport! But Libertine is not the only club in Belgium with an excellent taste of music, the calendar of Spark, the saturday nights at Antwerps finest: Café Capital look absolutely fabulous as well, and certainly for us because we will be playing there 2 times this autumn.

This Saturday, the 19th, Spark welcomes Âme, the week after Michael Reinboth from Compost Records will perform at Capital. And in October they’ll have following guests: Blackjoy on the 3th of October, Mugwump a week after, the 17th of October Boy 8 Bit and last but certainly not least Motor City Drum Ensemble on the 24th!

We (King & Cousin) will do the warming up for Mugwump on the 10th of october and also on the 14th of november for no one less than Dixon, labelhead of  Innervisions!

Spark is the new saturday night concept of Café Capital in Antwerp. It is the  follow up concept of ‘Play’, where we had the honour to dj too a few months ago.

The first international guests of this fresh new party concept were Pilooski, Shit Robot, Chymera and Detroit legend Theo Parrish. Artists who will perform in a couple of weeks are  Trus’me, Tom Trago and Âme.

An eclectic selection of fine artists like we could expect  from Café Capital. Last season they welcomed  icons like François K. and Carl Craig but also promising newcomers like Holy Ghost! and Jacques Renault.

To end this post we’ve got 2 old school goodies for you. Both space-disco tracks from 1979, the first one is from Munich Machine aka Giorgio Moroder. The second is a very beautiful and not so well-known track by Hans-Peter Stroër.
